In chapter 10 of Treasure Island the claim is made that “there was never a ship’s company so spoiled since Noah put to sea.” The view that Noah was “spoiled” stands in direct contrast to the fact that he and his family were the only ones among all the Earth’s inhabitants at the time (some estimates reach over a billion people) that were saved. GENESIS 6:8-9 tells us that “Noah walked with God” and that he “found grace in the eyes of the Lord.” The historical record of Noah and his family can be read in GENESIS 6-9.
